Quality and Materials
Our brand originated from pure passion for beautiful basics of honest and high quality. We love simple design with a perfect fit and you can find that in our collection.
We use high quality materials like cotton from the Better Cotton Initiative and Lyocell (Tencel®) due to the fact that Lyocell is one of the most sustainable materials and is also 100% biodegradable.
More on Lyocell
Lyocell is a manufacturing process of rayon which is much more eco-friendly than its relatives modal and viscose. Lyocell is made in a closed-loop system that recycles almost all of the chemicals used. “Lyocell” is the generic name of the manufacturing process and fiber.
Lyocell is made from eucalyptus from PEFC certified forests. Eucalyptus trees grow quickly without the use of pesticides, fertilizers or irrigation. Just like rayon and viscose, lyocell is 100% biodegradable.
A short summary of lyocell.
Lyocell fibres are smooth, elastic and are very resistant to wrinkles.
Lyocell is said to be anti-bacterial because of its moisture management property.
Lyocell material has a very smooth, soft surface that drapes beautifully. In terms of the way it feels it is soft, breathable, lightweight and comfortable.
The wicking abilities of Lyocell materials keep the skin dry and the smooth fiber surface feels soft and supple against the skin. This makes lyocell fabrics great for sensitive skin.
Lyocell fabric has controllable fibrillation (the very fine fibrils or hairs found on the external surface of fiber strands) this means it can be arranged in various ways from a silky smooth finish to a suede-like softness.

Because the longer the cotton fiber, the stronger, softer, and more durable the resulting fabric. Fabrics made of long-staple cottons fray less, pill less, wrinkle less, and even fade less than fabrics made with their short-staple counterparts.
Combed cotton is softer and of a higher quality than other cottons. First the cotton is carefully harvested and cleaned and then it is carded and combed. Carding separates the individual cotton fibres and runs them in the same direction, by passing them between moving surfaces. The cotton is then combed using fine, combing brushes which pull out the shorter fibres and impurities. The remaining cotton fibres are the longest and straightest ones, and once woven, produce a much smoother and higher quality fabric.
What does it mean when a garment has been pre-shrunk? It means that the fabric undergoes a controlled process during manufacturing whereby the fabric is preshrunk and then made into a garment to thwart further shrinkage once in use. This doesn't mean that it wont shrink but we reduce the shrinkage to +-3% instead of a possible 10% which can be a full size.
